First of all, everyone should give props to this movie for creating something new in the action movies world. The action scenes had nothing to do with the matrix (except the stylish clothes and face expressions). Matrix had slow-mo effects that made up for the crappy martial arts (i mean CRAPPY, Keanu looks so unatural when he is fighting), and pretty good gun battles. Equilibrium on the other hand, came up with something new (just like Matrix) and that is the gun being an extension of your hand. I gotta admit that Matrix had a better story, much more intriguing then "perfect society". But to tell u the truth, i think the matrix movies are way too overated. Matrix reloaded almost sucked; it was just like the first matrix action scenes : good in between story segments : BORING BORING BORING. Equilibirium, with a bigger budget would've kicked Matrix's ass. Anyone with me on this one?
