Serious question, no vitrol.
They were at a presidential debate. Part of his opponent's platform was keeping gays as second-class citizens. You don't think it was a germane point to perhaps bring up that he has a gay child?
Coulter brought up Edward's deceased child as a cheap shot with no relevance. I'm all for hearing how that was a valid area of discourse.
