Did you see the new motto on Newsmax's banner? "A News Source so bad that even Faux won't quote us."
Two things, I saw the debate where Edwards brought up the subject of Cheney's daughter being a lesbian. Neither my own daughter nor me found that offensive. But I will agree the subject was best not brought up in that manner.
I think that was John Edwards attempting to reveal another aspect of rank Republican hypocrisy: It's not that the Republicans have a lock on it, but they sure seem to be out to control the market. I think Elizabeth Edwards was correct in calling taking a shot at Cheney's wife as she and the rest of the rest of the Republicans overreacted to what was a legitimate point: How is it that Cheney could support a policy that promoted discrimination against gays?
That whole gay daughter dust up, though far from the highest levels of enlightened debate, was orders of magnitude above the fetid cesspool that Coulter seems to be using as a hot tub.
You know, I have never in my life understood discrimination against gays. The idea that the Republican Party panders to this irrational hatred makes me a bit ill. I do not buy into the talking point that Republicans don’t hate gays, they just don’t think they should have special privileges. That is just bullshitspeak for let’s oppress the gays and fuck them out of survivorship rights, hospitalization visitation, military service, and any other thing we can so those sinner/perverts can continue to be punished for a sexual preference not of their own choosing.
