03/22/98: Actually...

Well, my SO thinks I'm nuts (and may well be right, mwahahahaha.), but I actually thought this film had some merit. The plot was vague enough to almost seem deep (in the same way that, from far off and without glasses, anyone in a club could look decent), Sam Weir did basically the same thing he did in "the Mouth of Madness", and while the whole flick reeked of "Hellraiser in Spaaaaaaace", there _were_ some good points... The freaky video log from the other ship was pretty scarey, in a gore-threshold kind of way, there are a few spookily-filmed bits wedged into the not-quite-plot background material... Me, I suggest a movie theme night for when you're not quite mentally up to something like Kenneth Branaugh's "Hamlet". This, one of the "Alien" flicks, and something semi-horror and plotless...maybe Disney. ...Then again, my SO thinks I'm nuts. ;)
