...they couldn't do a sequel with a grown-up Drew. I remember in the book (I don't know if this was mentioned in the movie) that they predicted that once the girl reached puberty her powers would increase to the point that she could blow up the planet by accident.
BTW, I like Drew with more meat on her bones. Makes her twice as sexy (at least).
