was the name of that Chuck Heston movie. I think it's the only western of his that I've seen. Very "human" story for a western.
Some other great ones that I've only seen once or twice, Shane and High Noon. Twas a shame but ole George didn't go much for the thought-provoking kinds of flicks. We watched the middle-of-the-road ones time and time again though. One that he *especially* hated was Monte Walsh. It was way too sentimental (for him) not enough gun-slinging and tough talking. It even had a heart-wrenching romance. Well, I didn't really like it either. Dirty and scruffy can be attractive, but not really on a pot-bellied Lee Marvin.
True Grit was of course undeniably good. I also had some fun with Sons of Katie Elder.
