I can't add to the westerns discussion (as I mentioned) but what's with the absolute dearth of good movies in the last couple of years? Maybe I'm only remembering recent times. Maybe movies have always sucked. But now that I'm an adult and get to go to movies practically every weekend, I'm amazed at how often I'm disappointed by them. A storyline that makes any sense is rare. The worst is that every movie is driven by an action that no normal person would take.
For example, Very Bad Things. The whole movie is based on the idea that a bunch of idiot guys wouldn't call the cops about an accidental death. The idea that rational people wouldn't know that's the best course of action - when the death was an ACCIDENT - ruined the rest of the movie for me.
