I willing to do so to give any director's film a chance. I did for very bad things and i did not think it worked either. But, unless you do, there is no way for it to work.
For an argument about this see "Armagedon". Eraser Ed along with Takezo and myself argued the same point there. They could not suspend their personal views of reality and hated the film. For me, having let go of some of my views of what would really happened, I thought the film worked.
I love Stephen King and that is a must for reading him. Though I don't understand how people can critize his story telling for those reasons and in the same breath say they like Dean Koonce.
But remember I am just a trailer park resident with a weird outlook on things.
