12/26/00: I used to think that the singing fish was the stupidest product ever.

A friend of mine from Texas said he saw a TV commercial promoting something called "Hairagami".

He said the ad opens on an Asian woman folding origami shapes. The uber-Anglo voiceover says something to the tune of, "In Japan, the ancient art of origami has been around for centuries ... now that ancient art can be practiced on hair! Introducing the amazing Hairagami!"

For $14.95, you get two of these "incredible" devices (which make hair into a variety of shapes, one of which is called "sushi", a "folding scrunchie" and a "glamour guide."

I have never seen this aired in the Philly area and I am wondering if any other Crankyzens can confirm this.
