When I first heard a description of the "plot" of this movie, I immediately became suspicious that this sounded an awfully lot like "Les Comperes". Sigh. Yet another remake of a very funny French film. All these "writers"; all this "talent" in Hollywoood. And who wants to compare Billy Crystal with Gerard Depardieu? Despite the fact that I admire Mike Nichols & Elaine May, I STILL don't understand all fuss made over "The Birdcage", which seemed like a word-for-word remake. The original "La Cage" was INFINITELY funnier, which is, I'm confident, the case with "Father's Day". Must be the subtitles. I recommend the video. I really wonder why they in$i$t on doing thi$?!? ...
