I have personally read 9 of HST's books and F&L is definately one of my favorites... I have not had the chance to expierience many of the drugs that HST has, but I have talked to ppl who have, and I think this movie portrays drug use in the early 70's and Gonzo journalism to the T. I've read some of the prior posts on this thread and ppl talking about it having no plot, bad acting, and more, simply need to loosen up a bit and see this movie for what it really is... A portrayal of an American legend, by Depp who played a great HST ( I believe he actually played HST's actions down a bit), and a nearly perfect adaptaion from book to movie... Consider other recent shitty movie/good book adaptations, Lost World, Sphere, and Episode One (oops).. To continue on, this movie should get credit where its due, tricky camera work, wonderfully directed, brilliant acting, hilarious, very qoutable, brings the world a little closer to perfection and HST ;0...
Prying open my third eye... Keenan
