Those are some great points.
According to one article I read read a few years ago, the reason that many schools have stopped teacing cursive writing is because they "don't have time for it." And the reason they don't have time is because they spend so much time teaching political correctness and multi-culturalism and victimization and diveristy and environmentalism.
So while your reasons for not teaching cursive handwriting may be valid, the real reasons why they stopped are not valid.
I suppose people from before my generation regret the fact that most schools no longer teach Greek and Latin.
