Samuel L. Jackson is one of my favorite actors, and even HE sucked in Episodes I and II. I thought the only performance I'd call "good" was from Palpatine (can't remember the actor's name). Ewan's Guinness imitation was decent.
I thought the kid was all right. It's just so hard to separate the performance from the script's shittiness - I mean, he actually had to say "You are in my very soul, tormenting me." How gay is that? How could any actor rise above such tripe?
Natalie I haven't decided about. She was great in "The Professional", but she was, like, twelve. She was ok in "Heat", but it was a tiny part. She was ok in "Where The Heart Is", but the movie is really stupid and cliched. Sure, she's practically an automaton in the SW flicks, but it can't be she was GOING for "wooden". Either she got no direction, or was told to be that way.
I just watched the movie, haven't checked out the extras yet - I had too many mvoies to watch yesterday, with LOTR coming out too.
