And you're right, it was creakingly unfunny. When it comes to Python, the parts don't equal the sum, although of course Terry G. has done very well solo.

And Eric Idle's "Rutles" was outstanding, but that was almost 20 years ago.

I found "Wanda" mildly funny, but the producers were way off base to market it as having Pythonesque humor. I won't go out of my way to see this one.
