OK, sure, Fight Club wouldnt be as popular with Leo Dicaprio instead of Brad Pitt. But, as he point has been made, Leo is an awful awful actor. Brad Pitt is an amazing actor. Granted, his performance in Fight Club isnt quite as good as it was in 12 Monkeys, it was still a really good performance.
Also, if Leo was in this movie, it wouldve attracted the wrong crowd. The theatres wouldve been loaded with little 12 year old girls in little pink shirts holding their latest copies of the new NSync album. The genius of the story would be lost on them.
Now, i know there could still be a few of those people going because of Pitt, but at least Pitt has been established as more than just eye candy. He is a talented and credible actor and brings the right attitude to the part. Leo wouldve brought bubble-gum. He wouldve given a really phony and girly boring performance as he always does.
Now, mister scanner-brainpopper dude, even if leo was in this film, i WOULD bring up the good points of the film, as i do for titanic. Titanic had good effects, good direction, some good acting (some), but face it man, Leo was horrible, did you see the "spit like a man" scene? Geez! I almost threw up at the bad acting that a monkey could improve upon.
Also, Fight Club was more than a "tough-guy" movie (i hate labels) with good acting. It had so much more than that, and if you couldnt see that, than im wasting precious typing time trying to convince you.
I had more to say, but as always, there is so much i can go into, that im losing patience for myself.
