I just saw a commercial for "Making the Band," a new TV series about this contest where 25 guys try to earn a place in the next boy band sensation. They bill it as a gritty reality-type show and actually show a clip of a guy crying because he didn't make the group. Lemme say that again: some loser was actually *crying* because he can't be the next Backstreet Boy. As Buford T. Justice would say, "What the hell is the world comin to?"
