I was disappointed upon seeing the teenage cast during the beginning of this movie. I knew the basic premise going in that the kid who knows the airplane he's on would explode and that sounded interesting, but I didn't know it was going to be a braindead teen flick. I hate teenagers. Movie teenagers and real life teenagers. Most of them are idiots who shouldn't be aloud freedom of expression or even aloud to speak. I hated myself as a teenager as well.
Especially all those teen angst shows that have polluted the television the past few years since 90210. Dawson's Creek, Party Of Five, and now this show Popular. I saw a little of the first episode awhile back and all I remember was that there was a Fat Girl in it who didn't make the cheerleading squad or something because she was Fat. I didn't feel sorry for her or think "oh, I didn't know fat girls were people too and have real feelings and emotions, I thought they were just fat and disposable and should be made fun of. Thanks to this show I'm enlightened and will treat fat people with more respect." But maybe some teens out there were enlightened considering how dumb the people in this country are. I just lusted after the two hot leading female characters, but that's wrong because they're two young for me (I'm 30). It's wrong even though they're paraded around in tight sexy outfits, but I'm not supposed to think about them sexually.
I wish I was smart enough and had enough energy to make money off the stupidity of others, and laugh all the way to the bank while a certain few quietly critized how amoral I am. While watching, I was debating what this movie was trying to be. Funny? Scary? Satire? Sixth Sense? Stir of Echoes? It couldn't decide, it tried to be all of that and failed. It had it's moments however, I've seen worse. I was disappointed because the idea was good but they ruined it by making it a teen flick. I think people experience morbid pleasure seeing teens die gruesome, bloody deaths because sometimes they just deserve it.
