As far as the gore factor was concerned. I hate to say it, but "Final Destination 2" is the best 2003 movie I've seen... but considering there have only been 8 movies this year, among them "Kangaroo Jack," "Just Married," "Darkness Falls" and "National Security," I don't think that's saying much.
The first "Final Destination" was definitely a lot creepier (and beyond the bus scene and the plane crash, I didn't even really care for it), but this gore-fest was a heck of a lot more amusing. Reminded me a lot of "Jason X," actually...
