Caucasian usually refers to White people in America since they mixed their own heritage up (which I am totally against for personal genetic reasons) You don't see any markers on registration cards for Irish, Italian, German, Austrian.. it's just White or Caucasian. It's not backwards racist or racist itself, infact this idea was probably created by a professor who did a test whether people from european background wouldn't mind checking off white or caucasian.
