...cutting out the whole sequence of how Paul and Jessica wrestle control of the Ornithopter from the Harkonnen guards was a mistake..
I think that there were a couple of mentions (by the Baron and...someone else... I can't remember who... I think it was when Irulan was confronting the Emperor in Part II) about how the Harkonnen's had just abandoned the Young Atreides and his mother to the desert...
The original sequence from the book (and in the Lynch movie!) SHOULD have been included.. It demonstrated how far along Paul was, as far as his adeptness with the Voice was concerned!
