I was annoyed that they just -whoosh- were suddenly in the desert. I guess that it got cut because the manufactured visit by Princess Irulan took up the time that would have been alotted to it.
This Baron Harkonen was infinitely superior to the Lynch version. The whole "raving diseased loon a la Aardvark Ratnik" did nothing for me. Was it me, or did Thufir just...vanish?
I LIKED this Paul. The actor SEEMED young, and he can do wonders with facial expressions. I love Kyle McLaughlin, he's great, but he was wooden in Lynch's opus. The fight with Jamis was superb; You could tell that he didn't want to kill; his face, his posture, his voice all said it, clearly.
B+ to A-, in my scorebook.
