I'll just make an appeal to all involved: At the conclusion of this post, let's just back away from this trainwreck and let the whole sorry subject drop.
First, I'll try to bring some perspective to bear.
1. I happen to believe JunkYardDog. He and I have had a couple of go-rounds here, but I've always believed him when he makes his (rare) references to his past and details of his life.
2. I can understand why MetaTroll might have disbelieved JYD, for MT has seen many people here create fictitious identities for themselves, complete with details that are bogus, and he may well have assumed that just about any such details when given by any Crankyland poster are bogus. It was an erroneous assumption, but a natural one, I suppose, given some of the frauds that have been perpetrated here.
3. I'll cite one that happened to me. A poster calling "herself" "Sandrine Paillard" materialized in Crankyland and a few of us, including me, got into conversation with her. "She" and I E-Mailed back and forth a bit, and then things started getting weird, with "Sandrine" hinting ever more insistently that "she" wanted to meet me and that "she" would come to the law school where I teach whether I wanted to meet her or not. It turned out that "Sandrine" was a total fiction, a bogus identity dreamed up by a former troll known for his twisted mindfuck games. I was taken in completely, and as a result, for several weeks I was deeply suspicious of several people in Crankyland until I recovered my equilibrium.
4. Having put all that on the table, I hope that we all can let this mess go and walk away from it and start over elsewhere.
