and i think, the best american movie of the decade too.
M_H: the trivia section in the imdb offer some insight about those things, the ending of the original script was different, it said that Joel and Clementine keep on deleting their memories until they got old, but got back together again, also Mary had an abortion, and that's why she decided to erase her memory.
I'm not quite sure they are destined to be together, the ending is kinda open to me, we want them to be together because of Joel's happy memories, but they are on the verge of screwing everything up all the time.
