Pikmin 2 was fun, but suffered from some design flaws that made it become tedious well-before I ever reached the end (which I never reached, actually, before sending it back). The surface world is really well done and interesting to explore, but the dungeon-crawling aspects are not well done and get tedious in a hurry. What they need to do for Pikmin 3 is create a large, more-varied surface world to explore with more save points on the top and keep the dungeon-crawling to a minimum. It gets an 8.3 and is not a GOTY candidate.
Fable was another Peter Molyneaux disappointment that was too short and didn't offer anything new to the genre. It blended the shitty aspects of the Sims with the shitty aspects of linear hack fests. The combat was however fun enough to keep you interested most of the way through. However, the difficulty was even easier than the notorious cakewalk that was Zelda:WW. Overall, crap. 8.0 Not a GOTY candidate.
So far this year I haven't played a single game that I think is a GOTY candidate. If hard pressed I'd go with SC: Pandora Tomorrow just for the innovative multiplayer that they came up with.
Other games I've played recently that you haven't: Burnout 3; Blood Will Tell, Silent Hill 4.
Games I'll play in October that you won't. Syberia 2, Yager, Dai Kentaskaya, Outlaw Golf 2, Killzone.
