True, that I did not say anything about why movie makers sacrifice message for profit. Obviously, I do not think this is just because women lack a voice in the industry, one sex is just as prone to selling out as the other. I am not a "women can save the world if you just let them" sort of feminist, I aviod such idealism.
I agree with you that it is all too true that movie makers are simply giving the public what they want when they are thinking of profit as the bottom line. However, advertising does a lot to help people decide what they want, which in turn provides funding for the movie industry. I'm not going into a conspiracy theory thing here, I'm just saying that a lot of people I know, who aren't particularly discerning about movies they choose, often come back from the latest hyped up blockbuster saying "that wasn't all that good"
Oh, my parents taught me to actually be a "lady". Of course I unlearned all that without much effort, foul mouthed little feminist trollop that I am!
