The Satellite Awards are a spliter from the Golden Globes. Some members of the Foreign Press Association were fed up with it and started their own award show, which usually gets no attention. However, movie fans tend to be more pleased with the Satellite's nominations as opposed to the Globes. They also nominate more movies and people per category. If anything, you know that at least half the nominees will also be Oscar nominees, for those who like to start their Oscar betting early.
The awards ceremony will be held early this year, on December 17, a mere week and a half away.
