These issues do matter. And until pretentious, pseudo- Ghandiesque liberals realize that they will continue to remain impotent and dithering in the face of the American neo-fascist onslaught.
But, in a way, I guess it doesn't matter. It's too late, now, anyway. The neo-fascist machine is out-of-control and all but unstoppable. Freedom & democracy in America are already terminally wounded, and the Bushies, the Fundies, and the neo-cons will finish it off. All while liberals and Democrats blither at each other, with perfect manners and in reasonable tones, of course, about the high-minded issues that really matter.
It's simply idiotic to be carrying on a rational and idealisic debate on firefighting policy and techniques when the house is on fire. But that's the modern way of the Democratic Party.
Get a clue, hippies.
