and when we got to the theatre my friend told me she needed something "light", instead. We ended up watching Happy Feet. God. I know it's no longer 2006, but I have to say this was the worst movie of 2006. I was alternately bored, annoyed, and horrified. I only stayed in my seat to count the number of parents hauling their traumatized children out of the theatre (7 families).
My friend owes me a movie, and I'll never let her choose again.
On the upside, I rented Little Miss Sunshine (saw it in the theatre in fall), and it was just as good the second time around. I know the dysfunctional family makes good story has been done many times before, but the dialogue was great, and the execution was wonderful. I've been looking for this DVD in stores, and it's sold out everywhere (except, of course for Walmart, which chose not to stock it).
