Those of you have some some actual training in economics may not be entirely surprised by this. In particular, Keynes explained why a society could easily stagnate and die if aggregate demand for goods and services falls far below aggregate supply. One easy way to prop up demand is to give people more spending money. This is a virtuous cycle that the min wage hike haters will never acknowledge, despite the vindication of Keynes's theories when they were used to pull us out of the Great Depression.

Even if you don't agree with the larger point, this article proves at the very least that a minimum wage hike does not inevitably cause greater unemployment.
