No one put a gun to their heads. People chose to quit working on the farms and move to the city to work in the factories because it made their lives better.

Before the industrial revolution, the average human life expectancy was about 25 or 30 years. Most people were at the brink of starvation. Clothing was scratchy and uncomfortable, and it was made by hand. Most people wore the same set of dirty, smelly clothing for many days in a row. When they did wash it, they washed it by hand. There were no light bulbs, refrigerators, or telephones.

And farming? Farming was a horrible way of life. It was painful, hard physical labor. And if your crops failed, you could die.

The industrial revolution gave people so many wonderful imporvements in iife.

If you think pre-industriual farming was a fun way to live, then you are mistaken.

No one put a gun to their heads. People chose to move from the farms to the cities to work in the factories because it gave them a better way of life.

You apparently have no idea how hard and cruel and miserable life was before the industrial revolution.
