The mother did not "snatch" Elian. She had custody of him. She wanted a better life for him. She DIED to bring her son and husband, her FAMILY, to the United States for a better life. There was a simple solution to this problem. Charge into Elian's home with M-16s and ship him off to Cuba? No. If your little communist friend Mr. Castro were telling the truth, then he would have had no problem sending the father over to America pick up the son he so desperately wanted back, right? Wrong. Fidel Castro would never have let the father over to the U.S., because as soon as he got here, you could almost garauntee he would never have gone back to poor, corrupt, communist Cuba. The only reason Castro wanted Elian back in teh first place was to use him as a "political football".
