That's right! Fuck his dad! Little Elian would be much better off in the USA! He'd have Nintendo, and Pokemon, and Beanie Babies, and, and, and, why stop there?
Hell, there's millions of little kids all over the country, not just in Cuba, who don't have a realistic shot at a better life (short of, say, an overhaul of the political system, but that's talkin' crazy). Why don't we just have rich folks like Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Ted Turner, and others, just have free choice of anyone's kids. You know, a kid living with Mom and Dad who have to work three or four jobs just to get by isn't going to go to any Ivy League school. Rich folks have so many more resources available, and besides, we're thinking only of the child's welfare here, so why shouldn't poor folks be willing to hand over their children to anyone who can take better care of them? Don't they love their children enough to try to get them the best of everything? And isn't that by definition measured solely by material possessions and wealth?
It's just sickening to see the prospect that that boy might go home to his father, when his father has been so irresponsible up until now. Why did dear old dad decide to live in Cuba in the first place? And why did he decide to have a child if he couldn't provide that child with Happy Meals and Toy Story 2? What kind of a monster is he? Better little Elian should stay in this country, where he'll learn all the right values, and get all the best stuff on earth. Yeah, he probably can't even get Snapple in Cuba!
Why we don't just bomb that miserable little island so it sinks into the Carribbean is beyond me.
