I didn't see anyone around to save him if he couldn't get out of the taxi, especially if he was knocked unconcious from the impact of the crash. Yeah it was a good movie but there many events that worked out too perfectly. What in the hell made him pick that exact spot to jump from, way too much of a coincidence.
