Now they really do have enough information to get all the money out of his accounts. She drugs him and he's done for. The screen goes black at that point. It should have stayed black - then roll end credits.
Why does Hollywood always have to have happy endings nowadays? They're utterly pathetic most of the time. This is a classic case.
I noticed in the early parts of the tests at CSR, they pinched ideas (and maybe even film footage?) directly from the tests in Parallax View. This film would have been powerful if they'd left with Nicholas totally screwed, as the Parallax View left Warren Beatty's character. That would be more satisfying too - a rich scumbag brought down.
