There was a Tom and Jerry movie made, and while it wasn't done in live action they made Tom and Jerry have voices and dialog. Tom and Jerry are not supposed to talk, they're just supposed to violently beat one another without stopping to give vocal explanation for it. Seeing Tom and Jerry talk is almost as bad as the Garfield thing.
