I don't watch that show. Actually, I catch an episode every few months, but I long ago gave up on following the conspiracy theories... one of the writers has to be a paranoid schizophrenic, they're the only people I've ever met who think like that.
As for the science, being able to use the equipment is far different from being able to understand the science. The understanding of genetics I've seen indicates they consulted a high-school student or an english major who had to take geneticts in college as a requirement, but hated the class. Millenium, another spawn of Mr. Carter, regularly makes the claim that the human genome project is an evil nazi eugenicism plot, which is so damned ridiculous I'd laugh if it wasn't for the fact that a lot of people are so ignorant and gullible on that subject they probably believe him.
the accuracy stinks, in other words. I also saw gattaca recently, it sucked, as did mimic, relic, and every other movie that managed to throw around buzzwords without any regard to content. geez, there are hundreds of starving grad students out there, let one of them consult for christ's sake.
