I made this pathetic joke after I saw this pathetic movie the first time, and I'll darned well make it again!
GATTACA = guanine adenine thymine thymine adenine cytosine adenine
where G T C and A are the purine and pyrimadine bases that make up DNA. DNA is double-stranded, so a short stretch that had GATTACA running along one side would have CTAATGT on the other, though if I want to keep the directionality of it accurate, it should actually be TGTAATC but you don't really care about that, do you?
pathetic title, stupid movie based on someone's high school understanding of genetics, written by someone who probably got their melodramatic butt dumped by a biochem major and this movie was their revenge, meant to prove how cold and mean all those evil science-type people are.
though as far as I can tell, this movie seemed to imply that everyone in the future will be forced to shop at the bombay company. Now that *is* terrifying.
