I definitely agree that this was one of the worst movies I've had the ill fortune to rent. The only thing that would keep me from giving this 4 bombs was the excellent production -- Africa, the bridge, the people, the lions, all looked great. However, after it became clear that this movie sucked -- I think it was around the time that the cranky boss started flailing around and Val Kilmer gave some passionless and confusedly-accented answers -- I was hoping for a quick and painless death of everyone involved.
The first victim's eating was so telegraphed he might as well have been wearing a cop's uniform, eating a donut, and turning to Kilmer to say, "I finally get my retirement tomorrow." The director went on to establish the early victims in the same way: suddenly, a previously-unseen character pops up in a few consecutive scenes, is touchingly characterized, and then, we see their faces in closeup just before the eating -- "Oh surprise! I'm getting eaten!"
This movie was so badly directed, and had so many basic mistakes I think I'm going to write a book titled "Mistakes Every Pisspoor Director Makes, and Ways to End Their Careers".
