When comedian Jerry Seinfeld tied the knot with Jessica Sklar in December, she was quoted as saying she wanted to start a family right away. She wasn't kidding.
The newlyweds are expecting their first child in October, says Seinfeld's pal Regis Philbin. Philbin broke the news today on his morning show, Live With Regis and Kathie Lee, according to published reports. The 45-year-old star called him Wednesday night with the news that he and Sklar are proud parents-to-be, Philbin said.
Seinfeld's spokeswoman, Elizabeth Clarke, confirmed that there's a baby Seinfeld in the works, but was more vague on the due date, saying only that the child is due "in the fall."
Seinfeld Jr. will have a new East Hampton mansion to play in; Jerry just bought Billy Joel's 12-acre Long Island, N.Y., house for $40 million and is expected to move in May.
Philbin joked that if the baby is a boy they should name him Regis. Nice try, Regis, but we kinda like the sound of "Cosmo Seinfeld."
Let's see, that makes Kate Winslet, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Annette Bening, Vanessa L. Williams, Madonna, (I'm probably forgetting some) all knock up unplanned.
