I haven't seen GITS yet, but I have seen several other Mamoru Oshii films, and loved them. I LIKE long, drawn out movies with lots of talking, and Oshii is a master at that. (If you don't think an anime can have a decent plot, you haven't watched enough. If I wanted beautiful animation, I'd be watching fucking Disney movies.) However, even fans of Oshii have been bashing this movie, so I can only come to the conclusion that either a) Manga Entertainment fucked up the translation, or b) Oshii finally made a shit movie.
