For me? I thought that the plot was pretty strong. There's a difference between copying something totally, and making up a plot that is INSPIRED by something. Perhaps for those who haven't watched the Japanese version, and don't really know how to speak Japanese(because even today, there are Japanese words that cannot be fully translated into English), there might be something lacking. Perhaps the quality of the voice-acting; I hear the English voice-actors 'suck', from many sources over the Internet. I'm not gonna point out names.
