Well, well! I never thought Mr. Cranky, here, would ever get around to reviewing a Anime film from the *Land of the Rising Sun*.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen this film so I can't give anybody an accurate opinion about the whole thing, but I got a lot of insight into this colorful genre.
The ANIME I have seen was "Wicked City," the "Project A-ko" film and episodes, "Fist of the North Star" (though I haven't seen the live-action film, but I heard that it sucked so I'll stay away from it for now), "Vampire Hunter D," the two "Voltron" series (I bet some of you people remember this one), "The Professional: Golgo-13" (the ultimate assassin), "StreetFighter II: the movie," "Fatal Fury," and a crop of others I can't remember right now, but I like to have some help on this subject so please drop me a word or title or just your two bits! (NOTE: If ya like to sample some Anime - Watch the Sci-Fi channel every Saturday morning, I think they still show some of them)
I love ANIME because it is a very flexible artform that is used to thrill and amaze with its variable beauty and grotesques. I hope that America can learn to appreciate this as much as I do, but I guess I'll have to wait at my local video store for a good show or two. Well, until then . . .
