01/04/97: People vs. Crucible of Mississippi

Yes, Cranky, this movie was no more revealing or engrossing than reading a short article about the situation. Except that it was a little contrived, like you said. But if you want a better ending, check out The Crucible. Similar idea, but...wait, maybe I'll check out your review of that.

So, here's what really bugs me. Why did they get James Woods to play the part in old age makeup if they're barely going to show him as a younger man? What a waste. It was great makeup, but it could have had greater significance. It's like in Terminator 2--Linda Hamilton has a twin sister who assisted in a very brief scene where there need to be two Linda Hamiltons on screen. They should have taken better advantage of that!
