G.I. Jane is a movie that I was expecting to really dislike, but I actually liked it to an extent. The military training scenes, while reminicent of those kinds of scenes in many other movies, were for the most part very intense and interesting to watch; Ridley Scott is very good at getting the right look for that kind of footage. Unfortunately, the film wastes a good amount of screen time on this really weak political subplot where people talk about the ramafications of putting a woman through the Navy Seals program; I know this had political relevence at the time, but I really didn't care about the politics in the movie. Overall, G.I. Jane is a decent military training flick and a weak political one.
Score - 6.5/10
