Susan Batson's performance in this movie is without a doubt the most brilliant portrayal of an acting teacher ever put on film. Teresa Randle (who kicks ass in every film she's all the way back to her silent debut in Kathryn Bigelow's Near Dark) is moving and defiant, yet never predictable. Various aspects of the film lack some cohesion (especially the parodies/tributes), but it is still a unique entertainment, and I consider it up there with Get On The Bus, Clockers, She's Gotta Have It, and Do The Right Thing. And as for Prince: I'm just glad that because of this film "Erotic City" is in print on CD.
