There's been a lot of talk about Gladiator vs Spartacus. But what about Gladiator vs the x rated Penthouse production of Caligula? Point by point:
1.) Incest. Commodus lusts after his sister, but nothing comes of it. Caligula impregnates his sister and cuts out the fetus killing her. Edge: Caligula
2.) Oral sex: Ten minute close up
you-are-their-gynecologist lez oral sex fest is the
highlight of Caligula. Gladiator: no oral sex at all.
Edge: Caligula.
3.) Bestiality: Caligula: woman attempts to have sex with a horse. Gladiator: Maximus has strange relationship with his horses, but nothing comes of it. Edge: Caligula
4.) Gross out scene: Caligula forces a guard to drink wine and then disembowels him: Gladiator: Decapitation in gladiator fight. Edge: Caligula
5.) Fisting: Hail Ceasar! Caligula fists a bride and groom on their wedding night. Gladiator: None at all.
6.) Battle scene: Caligula: None. Gladiator: Stolen from Braveheart.
There you have it. Caligula beat out Gladiator in 5 out of 6 categories. Be sure to see the X rated, not the toned down R rated version.
