Truly, this is the first epic film since the seventies, or so.
Crowe's performance was riveting to me, much like the character of Conan (the barbarian), as seen in a couple old films that can be found deep within Schwarzenegger's vault of pre-Hollywood-molested contributions.
Bravo! for taking a simple tale and making it come to life in a gripping fashion.
The effects work nicely.... They're new... fresh -- A sign of the changing times, I guess, but no worries. ;)
