Hello, Bilious One. I've just returned from a lovely, long tour, and to my delight, I see a message posted by your good self. "Aussie fucktard", eh? I bet you sat up all night thinking up that oh-so-original epithet. Well, seeing that English does not appear to be your native language, allow me to explain. Your original beef was that Russell Crowe, as an "Australian", should not have been allowed to play the role of a Spaniard. Surely you could have checked his nationality before making that silly statement? Who's the real fucktard here? It's not as if there is a shortage of info about this chap, after all.
Why not take your whining a bit further, and screech away about Vivien Leigh being Indian-born British, instead of a Georgian, in "Gone with the Wind"? For that matter, you can have a good, long bitch -session about just about every film that's ever been made, and their "miscastings". John Wayne as Genghis Khan, for starters. Bette Davis as Queen Elizabeth 1. Errol Flynn as Robin Hood. And WHY, when you had the chance, didn't you grizzle about British Derek Jacobi playing a Roman in "Gladiator"??? Hollywood has never been overly particular about the racial origins of its actors, providing that they have box office appeal. You ought to know that by now.
But to return to your original posting. You ranted on about roles being assigned along racial or national grounds, and then- how did you polish it off??
"Give the fucking role to an American actor", was, I believe, your parting shot, thus demolishing your original argument.
Tee, hee. I cannot wait for your next blast of toxic fumes.
