That's why he should have had someone who didn't share his bloodlines quietly pointing out the ramifications of this stupid move. The creepy Gosper is now saying he had nothing to do with his daughter being selected for the run. Not only is that obviously a blatant lie, it assumes that people reading his denial have an IQ of about seven.
Rant follows.
Here, the whole Olympic thing is turning into a farce, and "jobs/deals for the boys (or in this case, girls)" is one of the major things turning people off the games.
I'm still looking forward to the event, but the sight of a row of snouts grubbing through the publically-funded trough makes me sick to the stomach. One of the delegates who took huge "gifts" during the Salt Lake City scandal, Phil Coles (sp?), is running the leg of the torch relay along Bondi Beach, one of Sydney's most popular destinations. This guy has proven himself to be a selfish, corrupt scumbag, but instead of showing repentance after being caught, he has raised his middle finger to the people whose taxes fund his lavish lifestyle and said, mataphorically of course, "fuck you all".
It's against this background that Gosper should have treaded more carefully.
