04/21/1999: A lot gets said, a little gets thought about

I was (am) a geek or a nerd or a loser. Never once did I feel like killing someone because of it. I've been shoved around. I've been kicked and punched. Never once did I feel like killing someone. So, I do NOT get why these boys did what they did.

That said...

Wulfgar, I think you're attitude is still wrong. I am against celebrating death. I feel for the families of the victims. I also feel for the families of the murderers. In any case, I think that it is wrong to send out a message of violence to people when you are claiming to be against violence.

Masterless, I disagree with the general tone of Pussyfur's post, but she does make a good point. Their is an uncomfortable justice in the wimp, dweeb, loser turning the tables on the jocks. In Heathers we all cheered. In real life, we realize that maybe revenge is not the solution. It's funny how an asshole jock suddenly becomes a "good kid" when he's dead. Hopefully, we can all learn a lessson, like even assholes are people and should be loved and respected. But that lesson sounds a bit too much like something Jesus might say, and we all know what happened to him.

Pussyfur, about uniforms. I agree. I hope that if you read my posts, you will see that I am in fact attacking the many means of "control" that are being proposed. As a good friend pointed out to me, the solutions to a complex problem are simple, quick and always WRONG. I am not in favor of uniforms. Mainly because I think uniforms encourage individuality and free thought, and I'm way against that.

Parca, as I took it, your point about the guns was that these kids were not within the boundries of the law when they obtained them. Laws did not stop them. More laws also would not stop them.

The point we seem to be missing is that when a person decides to kill another, they will find a way. Outlaw guns, and they'll build bombs. There are always ways to kill. Guns are a symptom, not the disease.
